RECOMMENDATION

MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS

A PILLAR OF AN ALTERNATIVE ECONOMY

Wednesday 27th May 2026

Mobile communications are a pillar to an alternative economy.

Mobile communications are used by billions of people every day in the Universe. Most locations would be seriously impacted if there is a failure in the mobile communications. In the event of a natural disaster for instance, mobile base stations, masts and towers could be damaged or completely destroyed. While these are well built they could be impaired in serious situations.

In order to protect from this it is recommended to develop a secured and conprehensive satellite mobile phone system that is established and operating on a consistent basis during the normal economy and when needed in an alternative economy.

This solution as an alternative economy solution needs to work seamlessly with the regular economy. This means that this solution operates in the regular economy as people who can afford it purchasing and using mobile satellite services and devices. This means that the mobile satellite solution is functional during the normal economy and earning legal revenues for the companies operating the services during the normal economy. This is not a service that is created only to function during a crisis or a natural disaster but is operational every day for years and decades and more even during the normal economy.

However if there is a natural disaster for instance and some telecommunications base stations or masts are destroyed making mobile communications not feasible for hours, days, weeks, months or even more the Mobile Satellite solution can ensure that the entire mobile communications networks are functioning seamlessly and perfectly without any quandary.

This does not refer only to people who have mobile satellite devices such as phones who wouldn't be affected by such a natural disaster.

This however provides an immediate migration of an entire terrestrial network to a mobile satellite network enabling the telephone users to operate their phones and mobile devices as though they were using the terrestrial network. The users may not notice any difference other than some information from the mobile satellite operator. However, if the terrestrial mobile telephone network has a legal arrangement with the mobile satellite communications company it is very feasible that the users may just find they are able to continue making calls, browse the Internet, send and receive emails and other legal communications. In this situation the entire users in that location for that network are able to continue their communications leveraging the Mobile Satellite network even if they don't have a satellite phone service.

This in my opinion could be legally and accurately designed and developed to ensure seamless migration and integration between the satellite mobile communications provider and the terrestrial mobile telecommunications services company.

Another option for effective mobile communications during a time of natural disaster or other crisis that may affect part of the terrestrial network is to have mobile base stations and or drone mobile switching centres or drone base stations. The base station enables calls from some users to be connected to calls of other users. If this is damaged or destroyed it could affect millions of calls and revenues of the mobile phone company.

A drone base station would be necessary mostly in an area that was so seriously damaged that a mobile building base station could not be used.

In this situation the mobile base station operates in a number of drones which are able to operate for several hours at a time in a small radius above the location where the natural disaster has occurred. This means that communications will remain intact and the users in such locations will experience always on availability of mobile phone services. This could douse tension, save many lives and ensure that people are able to get the help they need. A mobile telephone switch off in such a situation creates confusion and can make the situation more arduous. However with this solution it should be easier for emergency services to operate as well as people to communicate freely and continuously.

'The smallest mobile phone base stations, known as "femtocells" or "picocells," are incredibly compact, ranging from the size of a standard home Wi-Fi router to a compact paperback book. These tiny devices are designed for indoor use, short-range transmission, and temporary emergency networks.

Depending on the specific use case, these miniature base stations fall into distinct size and function categories:

Femtocells (Indoor/Residential): These are the smallest commercial base stations available.

Measuring roughly 15 x 15 x 5 cm (about the size of a book or router), they plug directly into a broadband connection to provide a 4G or 5G signal for a home or small office.

Picocells (In-building/Hotspots): Slightly larger, ranging from the size of a shoebox to a thin briefcase. They are typically placed in high-density, hard-to-reach spaces like shopping malls, elevators, and metro tunnels to boost local coverage.

"Network-in-a-Bag" (Portable): Deployable base stations built for emergency responders, disaster zones, or remote areas.

Ultra-Small Private Base Stations: Specialized military or tactical mini base stations have been demonstrated to fit entirely onto a single microchip or a small circuit board, enabling temporary private networks for short-range communication.'

A mobile base station that could process functioning at the capacity of the terrestrial base station should be built and installed into the drone or a number of drones depending on how the mobile base stations are designed.

In areas that are mountainous or have tall buildings not too far off from the location of the damaged terrestrial base station it may be feasible to park the drone base station on top of the building or mountain to provide the mobile phone communications access. However the drone base stations are designed to operate in the air for considerable periods of time and therefore are able to provide this as a working alternative economy solution.

The drones can be purchased or hired depending on which makes it easier to leverage in an alternative economy. The mobile base stations may be kept as a backup equipment which means that they are available when required.

As stated in prior recommendations an ideal alternative economy solution should be able to function in a viable and effective manner in the alternative economy. Keeping drone base stations just like that until such a situation arises would not be the best use for a drone base station. Therefore in the regular economy drone base stations can be used in no less than the following situations.

i. For providing mobile communication services to locations that have been concluded to have standard base stations but which may take weeks and or months before the standard base stations are built, installed and ready and working completely.

ii. In the event of any downtime in the functioning of a standard base station a drone base station can be leveraged. This could be in the instance of power failure, equipment failure or malfunctioning or any other such situation.

iii. Some base stations can terminate millions of phone calls within some minutes to mobile phone users. During scheduled maintenance this may result in considerable loss of revenues. In such situations if there is not enough redundancy in the standard base station the drone base station could be integrated to keep calls being connected until the scheduled maintenance is concluded.

iv. Drone base stations could be leveraged for ad-hoc events and or situations during a normal economy where mobile phone communications are required in remote locations or locations that do not have a mobile communications base station and or coverage. Such may be legal training camps, legal orientation camps, locations frequented by tourists during particular periods of the year which have seasonal but high human flow for instance.

v. This could be leveraged for more lasting yet temporary structures such as refugee camps but in this application the drone base stations would be installed on a secure high location in or near the refugee camp to enable people in the refugee camp as well as officials to have access to mobile communication networks.

These are just some uses of drone base stations during a normal economy. When needed in an alternative economy the drone base stations can be leveraged to ensure uninterrupted mobile communications any time that is required.
