RECOMMENDATION
MISTDRINK AND DRINKICE
Thursday 5th March 2026
This recommendation is made to develop a more compact method of packaging drinks especially water.
On the 18th August 2025 me who write this physically made a recommendation on a Water Preservation System which was after learning of some water challenges in the Islamic Republic of Iran at the time. It was recommended to a number of nations.
https://x.com/electmonitorng/status/1957413875642413305?s=19
This hopes to leverage some of that recommendation for a more compact purpose.
'Global freshwater consumption is 4 trillion cubic meters per year, with some estimates suggesting up to 4.3 trillion. Agriculture is the dominant user, accounting for roughly 70-72%.'
The recommendation is to develop a container that has two parts basically. The first part perhaps may be one or two inches high and be made of a material that stores heat. This component is completely airtight. This is where the compressed steam is kept which can contain steam that is compressed to no less than 4 times.
This compressed steam when cooled would produce four times the water that the uncompressed steam would produce. This would be a small container no more than 2 inches in height and perhaps 3 inches in diameter. This could be fit in a pocket shirt or trouser or jacket. This is the basic form for carrying the steamwater. When the person wants to drink water there is a lever on the steamwater which is pulled up and as it pulls up a flexible container pulls into a cylindrical shape which is an additional 3 to 6 inches in height. This makes a total of 4 to 8 inches in height for the container. Pulling the lever also breaches the seal of the steam covering which causes the compressed steam to fill the entire 4 to 8 inches container. This steam then cools because there is no heat trapping material on the extended container and the first part has the seal removed which means that the steam will cool and become water which can be used for drinking and quenching thirst. The person may keep the container in a fridge to make it cool or leave it at room temperature for some time which will make it normal water temperature and not warm.
This is very useful in areas that have challenges with water supply and also for people who move around a lot during the day or over some days and carry water but dont want the weight of several bottles of water.
This model of the product is also very applicable for people who don't mind or even like drinking warm or room temperature water as well as those who use this for beverages such as tea, coffee or other drinks that may be drank warm. This is because the steam becomes warm water prior to becoming cool water.
For some people they just want to get the MistDrink bottle with water to drink within some minutes of opening it. Therefore an additional product which can be attached to the bottle or kept stand alone is a circular 1 to 2 inch piece of ice which has been frozen.
This would be slightly less than the 3 inch diameter of the container so that it can easily and seamlessly fit in the container. It would look like a transparent ice hockey puck but has a casing of synthetic material which encapsulates it and keeps it cold from anywhere from several hours to a few days depending on the model. The person can just remove the ice block from the casing and put it inside the MistDrink bottle and it would melt as the steam cools to water. This would make the water cool for drinking and even cold within some minutes. When developing this in the factory it is important to determine what size of ice block will cool to what extent whether to room temperature or to cold and chilled water. These ice blocks in puck like casings can be bought at the same place as the MistDrink. The MistDrink container can either have the ice block fixed or the ice block can be sold separately. It is my opinion that this should be flexible. However, the standard should be the MistDrink container with a puck of ice under it or above depending of the design specification. The puck like ice block can be detached from under the container, the ice block removed from the synthetic casing and kept in the expanded container. Some minutes later it's ready to drink cool or cold depending on the size of the container and ice block.
This in my opinion is really cool for a number of reasons.
Imagine a person wants a cold drink in one or two hours of time and is going on a train ride and switching trains or a bus ride switching buses perhaps going to work or some other place. The person can keep one or two or even more MistDrinks in pocket or in bags for some ladies and women and some men and perhaps one hour into the journey open the MistDrink to its expanded form put in the ice block and have a cool drink which would be water or something else.
If this is done right it could herald a universal shift in the manner in which water and beverages as well as other drinks are packaged for consumers. In this sense this has gargantuan impact in my opinion.
This is also really cool for food aid to refugees. This is because getting food and water to refugees can be arduous. Therefore providing compact water packs like MistDrinks means no less than 4 times the volume efficiency for the same volume of water which should mean more supplies can be made and better kept by refugees. In addition most refugees have no access to cold water but this will change that and give them some dignity.
'For a typical refugee camp of 100,000 people, this equates to roughly 547.5 million litres annually.' This recommendation leveraging packaged compressed steam would require transporting only a fraction of the weight for the same volume of water.
'Packaged Ice Market: The global packaged ice market was valued at over USD 10 billion in 2024, with expectations to grow significantly. Given that this includes billions of bags, consumption runs into millions of tonnes annually.'
'Production Growth: The ice maker market (covering commercial and industrial units) is growing at a CAGR of over 5%'.
'The global consumption of manufactured (packaged) ice is massive, with the United States alone consuming over 250 billion pounds (approx. 113 million metric tons) of ice annually.'
'The search results also indicated that in the context of the frozen food industry, consumption has reached 17.2 kg per head in some European countries, but the 250 billion pounds figure specifically refers to frozen water (ice) consumption in the U.S.'
It needs to be stated that there is a gargantuan market for selling ice blocks in puck shapes or even other shapes like cylinders that can be sold as a stand alone product. This allows the ice blocks to be used with any bottle, cup or container depending on the preference of the consumer. If these have duration of several hours to some days as stated earlier then this could generate considerable revenues. People can freeze them over night some like short sticks or short straws, keep them on for the day and ensure that every drink is cool or cold depending on their preferences. This in my opinion will become part of lunch boxes for many children and students and restaurants selling lunch packs. There are already ice straws however the considerable difference between DrinkIce and Ice straws is the fact that the DrinkIce is designed for carrying around and used whenever convenient for the consumer from several hours to a few days. This is very important. For instance a person may have a packet of 5 DrinkIce in the pocket for a day. Each time the person wants to cool a drink maybe even in a plastic bottle or a cup the person takes a DrinkIce like taking chewing gum from a pack and puts the DrinkIce and enjoys a chilled drink and keeps the rest back in the pocket.

It is my opinion that the materials used for this can be manufactured at scale to make the unit cost not more or much more than a plastic water bottle. It is recommended that materials that can store heat for the steam or keep the ice block intact should be as thin as feasible. This will strengthening ease of movement.
It is recommended that this come in no less than two variants which are the disposable variant which are basically for single use and the durable variant which are for regular reuse like a water bottle. Certainly it could come in different colours or completely transparent or the steam and ice parts could be opaque while the rest be transparent. There are numerous designs the MistDrink containers and the DrinkIce could be.

Materials such as acrylic and synthetic foil should be considered amongst other materials.
'Acrylic is a popular material used for making durable, high-clarity bottles.'
This is recommended to the same nations as the Water Preservation System as well as some additional nations.
