CAN THERE BE A GENOCIDE OF LEGAL MILITARY PERSONNEL AND OR ARMED OR REBEL FIGHTERS IN A CONFLICT?

'The 1948 Genocide Convention, also known as the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, defines genocide as acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group.'

LEGALLY AND ACCURATELY MAKING A PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF WHETHER GENOCIDE HAS OCCURRED IN A LOCATION

It is my sincere opinion that even though the military are legally deployed in combat and fight in conflicts and in some instances there are armed groups such as rebels who are involved in conflicts, these people are first human beings. It is feasible for genocide to be committed against them even though they are combatants.

In my opinion, if it can be legally and accurately proven that some troops are being deployed intentionally and or disproportionately into a conflict who maybe of a particular ethnicity, religious and or racial group, then such deployment, especially if there are high casualty figures on a continuous basis, may be intended to wipe out or weaken the military capacity of a particular ethnic, religious and or racial group.

In this sort of situation, it is my opinion that genocide would have occurred even if it affected legal military personnel or even rebel groups. This could be where a rebel leader deploys some particular number of a type of rebel fighter with the intention of increasing the number of deaths of those types of rebel fighters or deploys a particular type of rebel fighter to where the fighting is fiercest, and the highest death toll is recorded, for instance.

It is my opinion that a war or conflict where such a form of genocide occurs means that there may be an intention for a future war against the people of the geographical location who have been diminished militarily, which means this may just be a preparatory strategy by those who do that. This may be why some may say, 'this is just the beginning'. In such a situation, it is important to legally and accurately determine which combatant legal military or rebel group has a higher depletion of their military human and animal personnel or rebel fighters, perhaps on a real and percentage basis over periods of the war or conflict. This is an opinion.

It is my opinion that there is a need to legally and accurately determine whether such is occurring and or has occurred in the current war between the Russian Federation with capital in Moscow and Ukraine with capital in Kiev both on the Continent of Europe. This is because there has been a high number of military deaths reported at some intervals. In addition, one of the fundamental challenges in Ukraine prior to the year 2022 was the issue of ethnicity, which is also affecting religion. In addition, this involves amongst the largest militaries numerically on the Continent of Europe as things currently stand.
